We invite you to immerse yourself in the world of Impressionism for a day, travelling to its Mecca, the village of Giverny.
We will visit the famous Claude Monet’s home and gardens, attend the exhibition of Auguste Renoir at the Museum of Impressionism on its last day, stroll along the paths where Monet, Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse walked, and reflect on Impressionism and its actual meaning. And all this in the company of art expert Boris Klyushnikov.

11.12 - 12.03 train to Giverny.
12.30 - 14.00 visit to the estate and gardens of Claude Monet.
14.15 - 16.00 lunch and lecture where you will find out about the "optical" impressionism that unites Monet and Renoir, how it is connected with the social context of Paris of that time, its street life, worries and anticipations, about the role of optical illusion and light and the real meaning of impressionism for the era.
16.15 - 17.45 guided tour to the Museum of Impressionism and the exhibition "Renoir in Guernsey", dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Pierre-Auguste Renoir's stay on the Channel Island.

Boris is an expert in the theory and history of contemporary art. He worked at the Moscow’s Pushkin Museum, taught courses on the theory of contemporary art at the Rodchenko School of Photography and Multimedia, and the British School of Design. He is a co-founder of the Laboratory of Art Criticism. His research interests include philosophy of contemporary art, video essayism and the intersection of art and science fiction.
